Live or Dice takes you into the laboratory of a crazy little alchemist experimenting with potions. His goal is to create a powerful elixir of invisibility, and you have only one task - to stop him!
The alchemist's movement is controlled by a die roll, and he moves around the board spaces of his laboratory. Your task is to make his job as unpleasant as possible. With the help of cards, you can influence his movement, manipulate the board and intervene in the course of the experiment. Each card you play brings a specific effect that either increases toxicity, radiation or destabilizes the potion - the key is in the right balance of these factors!
The game offers several different endings that depend on your decisions. Can you find them all and stop the alchemist before he finishes his deadly potion?
Live or Dice was created during a 48-hour marathon at GMTK Game Jam 2022. The theme "Roll of the Dice" inspired us with board and card games, but we wanted to offer something new. Here, the player becomes the playing surface, while the alchemist is just a piece whose movement is controlled by the roll of the dice. So the player must fight against the unpredictability and try to stop the alchemist from his experiment before it is too late.
